Get to know us first.
Then decide.
Why we discuss membership fees only after a trial class.
How much does membership cost?
A perfectly understandable and important question. After all, a leisure activity should not only bring joy and enrich your life, but also fit your personal circumstances and financial possibilities.
At Do for Life, the first step towards becoming a member is getting to know each other. We want to give you or your child the opportunity to experience our Taekwon-Do, the people and the special atmosphere of our dojang firsthand.
That is why we have consciously chosen to discuss our membership fees in person, after a trial class.
Behind this decision lies our understanding of martial arts and the belief that personal experience can often convey more than any description.
We would love to share what this means to us and how we approach these first steps together.
Der Kennenlernprozess
More Than Just Taekwon-Do
At Do for Life, we see martial arts as a path of personal growth and development: physically, mentally and in our relationships with others.
Of course, we practise kicks, punches, traditional forms and self-defence. We develop strength, flexibility, coordination and endurance. But for us, techniques are not simply a goal to achieve. They are also a way to discover more about ourselves.
Through training, we learn to face challenges, deal with setbacks, push beyond our perceived limits and remain mindful of ourselves and others along the way.
Our focus is not on comparing ourselves with others, but on individual development. Everyone brings different strengths, needs and abilities. Rather than expecting everyone to follow the same path, we want to support each person on their own journey.
Our dojang is therefore much more than a place to train. It is a community where we learn with and from one another. Experienced students support beginners, respect is not determined by belt colour or rank, and everyone is welcome to find their place.
We don't just want to tell you about this atmosphere, our community and our approach to teaching. We want you to experience it for yourself.
Your Trial Class
Space to discover through personal experience
Especially for children, we want to create an opportunity to explore something new with curiosity and an open mind – without having to meet expectations or prove themselves.
Perhaps your child will discover the joy of an unfamiliar movement. Perhaps they will overcome a little uncertainty or experience how rewarding it can be to learn something together with others.
Teenagers and adults are equally welcome to begin from scratch, try something new and explore what martial arts might mean to them.
During your free, no-obligation trial class, you will get to know the people, our dojang and the way we train.
At the same time, we would like to get to know you or your child. Because meaningful guidance begins with paying attention, listening and understanding one another.
We want to learn what you are looking for and give you the opportunity to discover for yourself what our Taekwon-Do could bring to your life.
After the Trial Class
Taking time for a personal conversation
After the trial class, we take time to talk about your experience. What did you enjoy? What surprised you? What hopes, expectations or questions do you have?
Based on this conversation, we introduce our training opportunities and membership options, explain the fees and share what lies behind our programmes.
We consider not only what our school can offer, but also your personal circumstances.
Just as every person is different, so are their life circumstances. Our regular membership fees provide the financial foundation for our work. At the same time, wherever possible, we do not want someone's financial situation alone to prevent them from joining us.
That is why we may be able to arrange individual membership fees in particular circumstances, for example for university students, apprentices or people facing other financial challenges.
We can explore together what might be possible during our personal conversation.
A Good Decision
Takes Time
We believe that becoming a member should be a conscious choice, made with confidence rather than on impulse.
That is why we never ask anyone to sign up immediately after their trial class. Quite the opposite: We expressly encourage everyone to sleep on it for at least one night before making a decision.
Take the time to reflect on your experience, talk things through with your family and consider whether our approach to Taekwon-Do feels right for you and your life.
We want you to maintain that freedom even after joining us. That is why our memberships can be cancelled on a monthly basis.
And if you decide that our school is not the right fit for you – whatever the reason – that is absolutely fine.
We understand that our approach to getting to know each other may be a little unusual and that some people would prefer to know the fees in advance. We fully understand and respect that.
For us, however, this approach reflects a principle that also guides our training: We want to give people the space to make their own experiences and, based on those experiences, make informed and independent decisions.
Perhaps this will be the beginning of a journey that will accompany you or your child for many years to come.
We look forward to getting to know you!
